Welcome to the Walks and Socials Diary

From Monday 29 March 2021 group walks can resume, the maximum number of people on each Take A Hike walk is determined by the Walk Leader (from a minimum of 6 to a maximum of 15, including Walk Leader). This approach has been agreed by current Walk Leaders with safety, physical distancing and route pinch-points in mind. This approach is compliant with Ramblers guidance and Government guidelines. As organised ‘outdoor physical activity events’, Take A Hike (Ramblers) Walks are exempt from restrictions on social gatherings, known as the ‘rule of six’.

If you would like to lead a walk for the group please contact Steve Noble if you haven’t done so already (whether you are new to leading walks for us or not). Thank you.

BOOKING IS NOW REQUIRED FOR ALL WALKS

All walkers must book a place using the Eventbrite link in the walk description. Booking opens at 8pm 5 days before the walk & closes 24 hours before the walk.
Walks are popular & places are limited. Please only book if you plan to attend.

ATTENDANCE & CANCELLATIONS
In the unfortunate event you are unable to attend please cancel your booking. Cancelling before the booking deadline gives someone else the chance to book.

SOCIAL DISTANCING IS REQUIRED
Walkers must keep a safe distance from each other at all times, in accordance with government guidance.

KNOW A GOOD WALK?
TAH is always in need of volunteer Walk Leaders. If you would like to lead a walk for the group please contact walks@takeahike.org.uk for further info.

NEW TO TAKE A HIKE?
Try 3 walks as a non-member before joining.

WHAT ABOUT THE RULE OF SIX?
As ‘organised outdoor physical activity events’ with risk assessments, social distancing & a booking system, Ramblers walks are exempt from social gathering restrictions known as the ‘rule of six’. The TAH Walk Leader determines the number of places available for the walk (from 6 to 15, including Walk Leader) which is stated in the walk description. Walk Leaders have agreed this approach with safety, distancing & route pinch-points in mind. This complies with current Ramblers guidance /government guidelines & will be reviewed as changes occur.
