Yeadon Tarn-Otley Chevin-Guiseley

2021-04-25 09:30:00 2021-04-25 14:00:00 Europe/London Yeadon Tarn-Otley Chevin-Guiseley

The maximum number of people on this walk will be 10, including the walk leader.

This is a circular walk from Yeadon Tarn to Otley Chevin and back via Guiseley. From the tarn we head uphill gradually to reach Otley Chevin (great views of Wharfedale on a clear day). We then head down to Guiseley where we will stop in the park for a lunch break (please bring a packed lunch). We then follow an old railway line/cycle path back to Yeadon and the tarn. We will need to keep to the side of the path to allow other people to pass us safely.

Meeting Point: We will meet at the entrance to the car park at the end of the tarn where the BMX track is (Cemetery Road). There are a few car parks at the tarn. The one we are meeting in as it at the opposite end to the boatyard and buildings. If the car park is full there is  roadside parking available on surrounding streets. Please note the post code only provides an approximate location.

The meeting point is about a 15 minute walk from Yeadon bus station.

The start time is a little earlier than normal to avoid the busiest times at the tarn and the Chevin. If it is very crowded when we reach the Chevin we will drop down to a lower path which is wider and usually quieter.

If you’re a Ramblers member please bring along your membership card (or download the Ramblers App to get your digital membership card) if possible as the walk leader will be using the Ramblers App walk register tool which scans the QR code on your card.
