At Cop Hill we head down to Merrydale then up to Wholestone Moor before returning to Scammonden Water.

PLEASE NOTE : If driving on the M62 West towards Manchester you cannot exit at Junction 23 as there is no access.  If driving on the M62 West you need to exit at Jct 24 and take the A643, then the A640 to Scammonden. On the A640 there are two bridges over the M62, after the pub (Lower Royal george) there are two right-hand turnings to Scammonden Water – take the second one which has a brown tourist information sign as this road takes you more directly to the car park.
