Ribblehead Ramble

Ribblehead Ramble

This fantastic linear walk starts from Ribblehead Train station and finishes at Garsdale Train Station.

The walk ascends gradually after Blea Moor Railway tunnel.  The route is varied taking in mini waterfalls, streams tracks and open fields.  On a clear day the panoramic views open up and are stunning. There are exposed sections which can be muddy and parts with high grass. The second ascent is up ‘Penny Hill’ also known as ‘Will Hill’.

This linear walk is unfortunately not suitable for dogs (due to grazing animals).

The finish time is hard to be accurate with, as will depend on which train we catch from Garsdale. The walk will be at moderate pace.

Going by Car ?

The walk is linear. If you are going by car you could Park at Ribblehead train station. After the walk take the short train journey back to Ribblehead train station, to pick up your car and return home.

Going By Train?

There is an optional meeting point outside the main ticket barriers (near WHSmiths) at Leeds Train station at 9 AM.

Please have any train tickets needed with you.
