I've done this walk several times, the last time was on 09.05.15 so I'd like to do it again.

Meet at 10.15am for a 10.30am start.

Starting from Earl Sterndale, we walk along quiet roads before turning off onto a grassy path that leads up to the trig point on High Wheeldon.  From here we have views of Parkhouse and Chrome Hills.

Continuing across fields we head to Crowdecote.  After briefly walking on quiet roads we turn off onto farm tracks that lead us to Pilsbury Castle.  All that is left of the castle is the mounds of the motte and bailey – we shall have a longer break here so people can explore the site.

We contine along fields to a footbridge which crosses the River Dove.  The next section is a fairly steep uphill walk along a track towards Sheen Hill, followed by a short section on the road before turning off on to farm tracks.

Crossing several fields we reach Longnor – we shall have a longer break in the village square so people can look at the Craft Centre and Coffee Shop.

Leaving Longnor we head across various fields (which can be muddy) and cross a main road.  As we head downhill we have views of Parkhouse and Chrome Hills – the route goes up Chrome Hill.

From Chrome Hill we head past Stoop Farm then walk down a quiet road before a final short uphill section which brings us back into Earl Sterndale.

starting point
Roadside parking in Earl Sterndale. Meet in front of The Quiet Woman pub. The last time I was here I wanted to go for a post-walk drink but the pub didn't open until 7.00pm.
