Knaresborough-Little Ribston

2022-02-20 10:30:00 2022-02-20 16:30:00 Europe/London Knaresborough-Little Ribston

From Knaresborough we head to the village of Goldsborough and continue to Little Ribston, stopping for our lunch-break at about the 4.5 mile point, looking across the River Nidd to Ribston Hall. We continue through farmland and woodland before crossing the southern bypass at Birkham Wood. After passing through a caravan site we follow Abbey Road along the River Nidd into Knaresborough and then head up to the castle. We walk through the town centre and back to the starting point.

We have to cross the busy A658 on two occasions on this walk. Please take extra care when crossing the road.

Much of the walk is on sturdy tracks/quiet roads but we do cross some fields and farmland and there could be some mud if it has been wet recently.

Please wear appropriate gear and bring a packed lunch.

Meeting point:  York Place Long Stay Pay & Display Car Park in Knaresborough. Post code HG5 0AD. The entrance is on the main road, opposite the swimming pool, next to the Marquis of Granby pub. We will meet in front of the toilet block at 10.15, to start the walk at 10.30.

Public Transport:

The meeting point is a 10 minute walk from Knaresborough bus station and approximately 15 minutes from the train station.

Ramblers members please bring along your membership card (or digital version).
