Hope, Castleton & Mam Tor.

2020-10-03 11:00:00 2020-10-03 16:30:00 Europe/London Hope, Castleton & Mam Tor.

The maximum number of people on this walk will be 10, including the walk leaders.

The walk starts by crossing various fields to reach Castleton.  There are good views of the Mam Tor Ridge.

The ascent of Mam Tor is via various fields, then up the abandoned road, before the final steep ascent of Mam Tor (depending on who turns up, this may be the grassy path at the edge of the landslip which leads directly to the trig point on the summit or I may take the slightly longer not quite as steep route across the hillside to the roadside which leads to the footpath up to Mam Tor).

From Mam Tor to the end of the ridge, with an ascent of Back Tor and Lose Hill.  From here the descent leads to Hope.
