Harrogate Ringway Part One

2021-10-09 10:15:00 2021-10-09 17:00:00 Europe/London Harrogate Ringway Part One

I have split the Harrogate Ringway walk into two eleven mile linear walks, using the number 36 bus to return to the starting point each time. Each walk starts from the same point on the south side of Harrogate. Details below. Feel free to join me for both parts or just one.

Part One: 9th October 2021 – Hornbeam Park to Knox/New Park following the Ringway in a clockwise direction through Pannal and Birk Crag.

Part Two: 6th November 2021 – Hornbeam Park to Knox/New Park following the Ringway in an anti-clockwise direction through Knaresborough and the Nidd Gorge.

Starting point: Free public car park at Hornbeam Park railway station. Meet at 10am, ready to set off at 10.15am.

Travelling to the meeting point:

You could arrive by train from Leeds…or…

Catch the 36 bus to Oatlands Corner and walk down Hookstone Road to Hornbeam Park Railway Station car park (an easy half mile walk)…or…

Park in the free public car park at Hornbeam Park Railway Station, accessed by Hornbeam Park Avenue. Be careful to avoid parking in the spaces allocated to the hotel.

The walk will end at the bus stop opposite Redfearns Garage on the A61, in the Knox/New Park area on the north side of Harrogate. We will catch the 36 bus from there back to Oatlands Corner and those who need to get back to the meeting point will then walk 0.5 miles to Hornbeam Park.

Walking boots are recommended. There are ups and downs and rough ground.

Dogs on leads are ok.

For those heading back to the meeting point at the end of the walk there may be the option of going to The Park for a drink before heading home.
