Evening Walk: Kirkstall Abbey & Hawksworth Woods

2019-07-23 19:30:00 2019-07-23 21:45:00 Europe/London Evening Walk: Kirkstall Abbey & Hawksworth Woods

This is a 5.5 mile walk from Kirkstall. It is an extended version of an evening walk we have done a few times in the darker months. From the Abbey we head to the canal and follow the tow path up to Newlay on the edge of Horsforth. We cross the river and the A65 and then walk through Hawksworth Woods before heading back to Kirkstall.

We will meet outside the Abbey House Museum building which is on the A65 (Kirkstall Road) opposite Kirkstall Abbey. If driving, you can park in the free public car park on Abbey Walk/Vesper Lane which is opposite the museum, or park on nearby streets. The post code for the abbey is LS5 3EH.

Drinks afterwards at the Vesper Gate pub.
