Spring into the new season

So, it has been a fantastic start to 2019 for Take a Hike! There have been many new people attending walks and we now have several new members. We have welcomed people who are new to our group, new to group walking or new to walking altogether, as well as a few faces we hadn’t seen for a while. It is great to have such a range of people, interests and backgrounds.

We have seen people make progress with their walking. People who started with 6-7 miles in January are now building up to double figures distances. It is great to see walkers increasing in their strength, stamina and confidence. People are pushing themselves with more challenging walks and travelling further afield.

A big thank you to walk leaders for offering such a range of walks to suit all time schedules, fitness levels and transport options.

The number of socials is good to see as well. From the winter bash to bowling to meals and quizzes, it offers a chance for members to mix away from the elements!

The first weekend away of the year took place recently. Look out for more to come – a chance to get away, walk in new places and socialise. Book early to avoid disappointment.

So let’s hope for some lovely Spring weather over the coming weeks. We will start to see new life – lambs, piglets and calves – on walks. Don’t be scared – feel inspired to take on new challenges and have new experiences as the days get longer.
