The 10th Annual Summer Pub Crawl.

The 10th-annual summer pub crawl will start and end in Halifax. The walk is around 8 miles, taking in at least 7 pubs on the way.

After meeting at the Three Pigeons at around 12:30 (based on a train from Leeds arriving at 12:23) we’ll go to the Shears Inn for lunch. It’s then sharply uphill to Southowram, and after a drink stop at the Cock & Bottle we’ll head to Beacon Hill to enjoy fantastic views over Halifax.

A downhill walk takes us to Hipperholme with 2 pub stops – the Cock o’ the North micro-brewery and the Travellers Inn – before heading through Shibden Park to the Stump Cross Inn. We continue into Shibden Dale to the Shibden Mill Inn, before returning to Halifax. And you know what’s in Halifax? Pubs, that’s what. We can decide on the day which we visit.

I estimate we’ll be back in Halifax by 8 or 9 o’clock, but it’s notoriously difficult to predict the pace. There’s the option of an early ‘escape route’ back to Halifax from Shibden Park, for anyone that wants a shorter day.

Several of the pubs have food options, but please bring a few snacks with you and plenty of water, as it can be a tiring and dehydrating walk if it’s a hot day.
