All ‘Take A Hikers’ are invited to attend the TAH Annual General Meeting which is now taking place on Zoom on Sunday 21st November 2021 at 7.30pm (please note change of date and time).
The purpose of the AGM is to reflect briefly on the past year and for members to elect a committee for 2022.
TAH is very much shaped by its members. We hope that as many of you as possible are able to show your support by attending this event. Everyone is welcome, whether TAH is a recent discovery for you or you’ve been around a while longer.
Prior to 2020, the AGM took place in a pub in the city centre (usually the Victoria, which is currently closed). The meeting had to move onto Zoom in 2020 due to the pandemic. We are aware that TAH members are at different stages in terms of wanting to mix with other people indoors while Covid is still in our midst, so we are using Zoom again this year to give everyone the opportunity to attend.
Please book your place using the Eventbrite link in the AGM event in the TAH diary. Booking closes at noon on Saturday 20th November. On the Saturday afternoon the Zoom details will be sent by e-mail to everyone who has booked a place.
Take A Hike Needs YOU!
All members are encouraged to contribute to TAH in whatever way they can, whether that’s leading a walk, organising a social, helping other people to do so, or simply supporting the events in the diary. If you want to get involved please contact a committee member.
Something else to consider is joining the committee – it’s an opportunity to contribute and find out more about the group.
Committee members retire from their roles at the AGM and are eligible for re-election if they wish to stand again (which is the case this year).
Group members have the opportunity to get involved, either by putting themselves forward as an alternative candidate for a role, or as a Member Rep. In addition to the existing committee roles, a Social Secretary is needed for 2022 (the role was vacant in 2021). If you’re interested in a more general role, becoming a Member Rep is a great way to contribute without having any formal responsibilities.
Committee roles are open to all members, with the exception of the technical post of Webmaster which is appointed by the committee. See more details below. The committee generally meets 4 or 5 times a year (currently on Zoom).
If you have any queries about the roles listed below and/or you are interested in putting yourself forward please contact Susan (e-mail address below) by 17:00 Friday 12th November.
If there is a motion or topic you wish to raise for discussion at the AGM please provide advanced notice to Susan by e-mail to email@example.com by 17:00 Friday 12th November at the very latest.
